Hello Readers, I hope you’re well.
Welcome to episode 3 of the UCStatus Podcast. As usual, this episode features me, Mark Vale (@unifiedvale) and Shawn Harry (@shawnharry).
This week we chat about Teams telephony and the need and options for resiliency of voice and other Teams services. It was an interesting chat with an interesting outcome. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Very interesting discussion with some fine points. Worth looking at what’s coming up in the Media Optimisation feature in Direct Routing which allows much greater ‘intelligence’ in the media path between client and SBCs. This will allow for new architectures such as central/branch SBCs (branch SBCs don’t need internet address) and location of client is used to optimise media path. Also a neat solution is coming to ‘branch’ survivability for Voice , very relevant to yesterdays ‘little problem’ :-), still under NDA but ping me for more details.
